Hi, my name is Annie, although you probably knew that since you have just clicked onto my blog site.  But now that you are here, let me introduce myself formally. My name is Annie, as you know. I was named after my two grandmothers and that is the only thing that I inherited from them both, apart from the fact that one was very big (fat), and the other was very small (thin). In my lifetime I have drifted from one of these extremes to the other, so you could say that I have taken after them both at some point in life. I know how easy it is to gain weight and how hard it can be to lose it. A couple of years ago I decided that it was time to change my eating habits, well to be honest I needed to change my whole lifestyle. Now, two years later and almost eight stones lighter, I’m much happier with my life. I did write about my life changing journey and I will post my scribblings at a later date.

I have a full time job, but in my spare time I love to write short stories. My stories are often drawn from real life, but it is up to the reader to decide if they are fact or fiction. You can read the stories on my Story Teller page.

I love cooking and enjoy making up my own recipes, I often share my recipes with a very close friend who owns and runs a café. People who dine in the café often ask her if they might have the recipes for the food she makes. She always jokes that they will be in the book, we will get round to writing a cook book one day but for now you can find some of the recipes on the Recipes page.

My other passion is shopping and since I’ve lost all that weight, I need a new wardrobe. You can see some of my purchases in the What’s New page.

Hi, I used to love the soda bread at the cafe in Scarborough 🙂
I wondered if you’d share it so I can have a go at home? Thanks so much, take care x
